James Dondero partners with Former President of The Woodall Rodgers Foundation, Linda Owen

James Dondero is Co-Founder and President of Highland Capital Market (HCM). Mr. Dondero is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), who have earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Aside from being HCM Co-Founder and President he is also Chairman of Cornerstone Healthcare, CCS Medical, and Nexbank; and serves as a board member of American Banknote and MGM studios.

Dondero is said to have a big heart due to his involvement in various philanthropic initiatives in education, veterans’ affairs, and public policy. Highland Capital Management is estimated to contribute more than $3 million annually through The Dallas Foundation towards charity.

Among the beneficiaries of HCM charity in Dallas are The American Heart Association, The Center for Brain Health, The Perot Museum of Nature and Science Uplift Education, The Dallas Zoo, Snowball Express and The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, just mentioning a few.

James Dondero has brought on-board Linda Owen to serve as the firm’s charitable giving manager. She will be operating in partnership with The Dallas Foundation, which oversees all HCM’s charitable programs and projects. According to Dondero, the move to bring Linda on board resulted from the firm’s commitment to continue increasing its charitable activities. Subsequently, a need arose for a dedicated professional to ensure HCM’s contributions made the greatest impact in society.

Owen is to provide strategic direction to the firm’s charitable activities. As president of the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation, Owen was in charge of the development of Klyde Warren Park in Dallas that was completed in 2012. Prior to her position at Woodall, she was president and CEO of The Real Estate Council (TREC). At TREC, she was in charge of projects by the Dallas-Fort worth area commercial real estate association and their non-profit programs.

Dondero expressed faith in Owen’s management mentioning her extensive track record in philanthropic organizations in Dallas. Dondero acknowledged Linda’s participation in the Crystal Charity Ball, the Family Place, and the Circuit Trail Conservancy.
Owen was delighted by the opportunity and expressed a desire to channel her expertise in ensuring that HCM’s philanthropy attained the maximum positive impact in society.
